Armor Games, most widely known for hosts free Flash-based browser games, has released the first cult-hit zombie RPG Sonny onto the App Store for iPhone and iPad. Growing from the dead with his brain intact but thoughts absent, Sonny must struggle paramilitary pushes, ravenous techno-beasts, undead monsters plus more to uncover the reality of his resurrection.
Developed by series creator Krin Juangbhanich, the iOS edition of Sonny remixes and evolves after its Flash-based predecessors, first released in 2007. Showing off a whole new storyline, widened gameplay features, increased visuals and more, the game is available in at a cost point of $2.99.
Players will quickly realize a unique adventure with familiar faces turning up in different ways, a new report arc and ending with different storyline twists, and original enemies and locations. The overall game also features precise 2D personas and environments, visual novel-style artwork by Jet Kimchrea and an engrossing, original credit score by David Orr.
We’re told that a new system in the iOS model of Sonny allows players to evolve their hero mid-battle with original powers to carefully turn the tide of challenging fights. Beyond that, players can customize their parties with a streamlined skill tree, upgradeable products, and engaging team members with unique skills.
